Rangoli stencil to print

Easy

A clean black-and-white line-art rangoli design on a white background, suitable for printing and using as a stencil: a symmetrical circular design with a diya in the centre, lotus petals and a scalloped outer border. Bold, even lines, no shading, no colour, perfectly symmetrical, square format.

See example output

Filled in with Default prompt

Black line art on white: a symmetrical circular rangoli with a diya in the centre, lotus petals and a scalloped border. Print on A4, trace with chalk on the floor, then fill in the colours.

Example only. Your answer will differ depending on your details and the AI tool.

Getting better results

Ask for a “top-down” view. It’s the only angle you can copy onto the floor. Side angles look nice but are hard to recreate.

Limit the colours. Saying “only 4 colours” gives you a design you can make with the rangoli powder you already have.

State the size. “About 60 cm wide” stops the AI from designing something that needs a whole courtyard.

Print it. The stencil prompt gives clean line art you can print on A4 and trace with chalk before filling in the colours.

Questions people ask

Can AI make a rangoli design I can actually draw?
Yes. Ask for a top-down view, a size and a small number of colours. The beginner and stencil prompts on this page give designs that are easy to copy onto the floor.
What is the easiest rangoli for Diwali?
A circular flower design with one ring of petals and four diyas at the corners. Use the “Simple rangoli for beginners” prompt to get one in your choice of colours.
Which AI is best for rangoli designs?
Gemini and ChatGPT both produce clean, symmetrical designs. Midjourney gives the most artistic, photographic results, but it’s harder to copy exact patterns from them.
Can I write my name in an AI rangoli?
Yes. Use the name rangoli prompt and put the exact words in quotes. Keep it short, and check the spelling in the result before you copy it.
